AICTE Opens Mitacs Globalink Internship 2027 Applications for Indian Undergraduates
An Indian education group called AICTE has opened applications for a special summer research programme in Canada.
The programme is called the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship.
It is for Indian college students who are studying engineering or similar subjects.
Chosen students will go to Canada for 12 weeks during the summer of 2027.
They will work on research projects with university teachers.
Students must be at least 18 years old and have good grades.
They need to pick at least three research projects spread across three different Canadian provinces.
The programme pays for the flight, a place to stay, and gives money for food.
Students can apply until September 16, 2026.
Three hundred students will get this chance every year.
AICTE has opened applications for the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship (GRI) 2027, with a submission deadline of September 16, 2026.
Under the renewed Mitacs-AICTE partnership, 300 Indian undergraduate students will be supported annually, with the first cohort travelling to Canada in summer 2027.
Selected interns will undertake a 12-week research project between May 1 and October 31, 2027, in disciplines including engineering, science, mathematics, and social sciences.
Applicants must be Indian nationals enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or combined undergraduate-master's engineering programme with a minimum cumulative GPA of 70%.
The programme covers round-trip airfare, housing, student enrolment fees, a stipend, and emergency health insurance, and is offered through more than 70 Canadian academic institutions.
