Nepal Floods Leave 12 Bihar Residents Missing, Including Family

Severe floods hit parts of Nepal after a possible collapse of ice and rocks near the Nepal-Tibet border.

The floodwater rushed through towns and villages, destroying homes, roads, bridges and vehicles.

At least 12 people from Bihar in India cannot be found.

Five of them belong to one family living in Bhimphedi, Nepal.

Other missing people were workers from different villages in East Champaran.

Indian officials said hundreds of Indians and people of Indian origin were also missing or could not be contacted.

Rescue teams have saved nearly 9,500 people, but more than 2,500 are still missing.

Officials are warning people to remain careful as river levels may rise further.
