Naikpod district leader demands rights and population-based benefits

A leader named Gandla Ramachander spoke for the Naikpod tribal community on World Tribal Day.

World Tribal Day is a day to celebrate tribal people and think about their rights.

He asked the government to help his community more with education, jobs, and welfare programs.

He said the official number of Naikpod people is too low.

Because of that low number, he said the community does not get the help it deserves.

He also said Naikpod students are being treated unfairly during college counseling.

He claimed officials ask lots of unnecessary questions and slow down the process.

He wants action against those officials and plans to meet important ministers about it.

If the government does not respond, he warned that tribals will hold protests at government offices.

He said the community will keep fighting, but only through peaceful and democratic ways.
