Harish Rao Says BRS Will Fight for Tribal Rights
A grown-up leader named T. Harish Rao talked to tribal people and business owners in Siddipet, a town in India.
He told them that the state government, led by the Congress party, has not kept the promises it made to them.
He said the government promised money to students who pass their 10th class exams and to students studying after college, but the money was not given.
He also said that money meant for a tribal organization was mostly not used.
Mr. Rao said tribal people are losing the land they were given, and some are even being sent to jail.
He said the land is being given to family members of a government leader.
Mr. Rao belongs to a group called BRS, the other big party in the state.
He said his party will keep asking questions in the assembly to protect tribal people.
He asked the tribal business group TICCI to help young tribal people and to push the government to give them what was promised.

Rao said the Congress manifesto promised Rs 10,000 for Class 10 pass students and Rs 2 lakh for postgraduate students, but the promises were not implemented.
He claimed the government had told the assembly that Rs 2,730 crore was allocated to the ST Corporation, while only Rs 70 crore had been spent.
Rao alleged more than one lakh acres of assigned land were being taken over, Lambada tribals in Lagacharla were being jailed, and tribal lands were transferred to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's brother Kondal Reddy and son-in-law Satya.
He said the BRS, as the principal Opposition party, would continue to fight for tribal rights and urged TICCI to support tribal youth and secure pending subsidies.
