Mumbai Airport Chauffeur Dies by Suicide Amid Kidney Disease
A 54-year-old airport chauffeur named Pramod Jadhav died by suicide on Thursday.
Police said he jumped between levels of Mumbai International Airport.
He drove government officials such as judges, registrars and bureaucrats.
Jadhav had stage 2 chronic kidney disease.
His family said he had been feeling depressed about his illness.
Police found a note written in Marathi for his wife and daughter.
The note reportedly said that nobody else was responsible for his decision.
Police are checking airport cameras to understand what happened before his death.
Police said 54-year-old chauffeur Pramod Jadhav died by suicide at Mumbai International Airport on Thursday.
Jadhav allegedly jumped from the airport’s P10 level to P4 at about 11:30 a.m.
He had stage 2 chronic kidney disease and was reportedly depressed about his health for six months.
Police recovered a Marathi note saying nobody was responsible and that medication had not improved his condition.
Sahar police registered an accidental death report and are reviewing CCTV footage to trace his movements.
