Gujarat CM honours three hospitals for national organ donation awards
In India, some very sick people need new organs like kidneys or livers to live.
When someone dies, their family can agree to donate their organs so others can get a second chance at life.
Some hospitals in the state of Gujarat are really good at helping with this.
Three of these hospitals won special awards for their great work.
The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, congratulated them at a meeting.
One hospital in Ahmedabad did 597 transplants in one year.
Another hospital collected organs from people who had passed away.
A hospital in Surat was praised for finding brain-dead patients and talking kindly to their families.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel felicitated three government hospitals for national awards in organ donation and transplantation during a Cabinet meeting in Gandhinagar.
The awards were presented at the 16th Indian Organ Donation Day ceremony held at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi on August 3.
IKDRC received the 'Excellence in Leading Government Hospital in Organ Transplantation' award, having performed 597 organ transplants during 2025.
Ahmedabad Civil Hospital was recognised as the 'Best Non-Transplant Organ Retrieval Centre (NTORC)', retrieving 171 organs and 34 tissues from 48 deceased donors in 2025-26.
New Civil Hospital, Surat won the 'Best Brain Stem Death Team' award, having certified 82 brain stem death cases during the same period.
Minister of State for Health Praful Pansheriya presented the awards to the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers.
