Harvard Business Publishing Releases Case Study on Cyberabad COVID-19 Model
During the COVID-19 pandemic, people all over the world had to stay home to stay safe.
In a place called Cyberabad in India, technology companies had lots of workers who could not go to their offices.
The local police worked together with a group called the Society For Cyberabad Security Council and other helpers.
They helped almost 800,000 workers move their jobs to their homes very quickly.
Because of this, offices could keep working even while people were safe at home.
The Indian School of Business and Harvard Business Publishing thought this was a great example to learn from.
They wrote a case study, which is a story used to teach grown-ups.
The case study shows how police, government, businesses and hospitals can work together during a crisis.
It will be shared with governments and business schools to help them manage big emergencies in the future.
Indian School of Business (ISB) and Harvard Business Publishing (HBP), through Harvard Business Impact, published a case study on Cyberabad's COVID-19 crisis management model.
The case study was co-authored by Prof. Vijaya Sunder M of ISB, then-Cyberabad police chief V.C. Sajjanar, and co-author Diti Joshi.
Under Sajjanar's tenure, Cyberabad police coordinated with SCSC, government, industry and healthcare bodies to move nearly 800,000 IT/ITES employees to work from home within days of the pandemic onset.
SCSC, coordinated by Dr Krishna Yedula, ran a COVID response and business continuity framework covering movement permissions, CXO engagement, government advisory dissemination and workplace safety support.
Sajjanar and Dr Krishna Yedula met the core team on Saturday to recognize members and volunteers who worked with police, government, healthcare institutions and industry during the pandemic.
