TCG CREST, IIT Kharagpur Sign MoU for Research Innovation Education
TCG CREST and IIT Kharagpur have agreed to work together.
They signed an agreement called a memorandum of understanding, or MoU.
The partnership will support research, teaching and new inventions.
Some projects will study medical technology, batteries, artificial intelligence and quantum science.
The institutes plan to create two special research centres for cancer care.
One will be in New Town and the other will be at a hospital on the IIT Kharagpur campus.
The hospital centre is expected to have 25 beds.
Researchers also hope to help cancer patients who currently travel to other cities for treatment.
The partnership may also support new companies based on the research.
TCG CREST and IIT Kharagpur signed an MoU on September 18.
The partnership will cover medical technology, battery technology, biomedical engineering, quantum science, AI and advanced computing.
The institutes will jointly establish two cancer-focused medical technology centres of excellence.
One centre will be located at the IIT Kharagpur Research Park in New Town, and the other at IIT Kharagpur’s superspeciality hospital.
The hospital centre is planned to include 25 beds and may improve cancer care for patients in Kharagpur.
