Supreme Court Rejects Plea for Ethanol Content Disclosure
A lawyer asked the Supreme Court to make petrol stations show how much ethanol is mixed into petrol.
He wanted the exact percentage displayed clearly at fuel pumps.
He also wanted the percentage printed on receipts and invoices.
The Supreme Court did not accept the petition.
Two judges, MM Sundresh and PB Varale, heard the case.
They dismissed the petition on Monday.
However, they said the lawyer could take the matter to the appropriate High Court.
This means the request may still be considered by another court.
