The company sold 2,19,220 vehicles in August 2026.

That was 9.2% less than its sales in July, although it was 21.3% more than in August 2025.

Domestic sales also dropped compared with the previous month.

Investors reacted negatively to the month-to-month decline.

The company’s profit and operating margin had also fallen in its latest quarter.

As a result, Maruti’s stock was the biggest faller in the Nifty 50 that day.
