Gurgaon Homebuyers Win Legal Battle, Construction to Resume
A big housing project in Gurgaon called Ansal Fernhill had been stuck for more than 15 years.
About 600 people who bought flats there were fighting in court to get their homes built.
The court said the project should be taken over by a new company and that the old developers must hand over the land.
Now construction can start again, and the buyers will get their homes or a refund.
The court also made sure the buyers won’t pay extra costs from the company’s problems.
NCLT approved a Rs 300‑crore resolution plan for Ansal Fernhill, allowing construction to restart.
Tribunal rejected Samyak Projects’ claims, ordering them to hand over the site and stop obstruction.
About 600 buyers who paid over Rs 274 crore will receive possession or refund under the new schedule.
Two towers are 95% complete; remaining phases will be delivered within 10‑34 months from RERA implementation.
Homebuyers can choose refund with interest or unit retention; insolvency costs capped at Rs 4 crore.
