Sabyasachi and The Met Announce Byzantine-Inspired High Jewellery Collaboration
Sabyasachi X The Met: Inside The Designer’s Extraordinary Journey From Byzantine Art To Modern Heirlooms · news18.com

Sabyasachi is a famous fashion designer from India.

He is now working with The Met, a very big museum in New York that holds art and history from the last 5,000 years.

Together, they are making a special jewellery collection.

The jewellery is inspired by the Byzantine Empire, an old empire that connected many cultures and countries.

Some pieces are inspired by ancient Roman carvings, old carved boxes and stone reliefs at the museum.

Every piece is made completely by hand in India using gold and colourful gems.

The collection will be shown in September 2026 at New York Fashion Week.

It is just the start of a creative partnership that will last for many years.

Later, the designers will also make accessories and clothing.

Sabyasachi made history in 2024 as the first Indian designer to walk the Met Gala red carpet.
