Sabyasachi Mukherjee Says Human Craftsmanship Will Outlast Artificial Intelligence
Fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee believes people will always need real human connections.
He said artificial intelligence can help people create things, but it should not replace them.
He also believes craftsmanship will last longer than changing technology.
Mukherjee shared these views while opening a large new store in New Delhi.
The store is filled with chandeliers, carpets, paintings and old decorative objects.
Its design celebrates Kolkata, the city he calls home.
Sabyasachi is also working with The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The partnership will use historical art to inspire new jewellery, clothing and accessories.
He said museums can help people find reliable connections to the past in a fast-moving digital world.

He made the remarks while opening a 26,000-square-foot flagship store in Mehrauli, New Delhi.
The store features 120 chandeliers, nearly 200 antique carpets, 300 original paintings and more than 100 antique objects.
Sabyasachi is collaborating with The Metropolitan Museum of Art on jewellery, accessories and clothing inspired by its collections.
The store’s design draws heavily on Mukherjee’s Kolkata influences, including Chowringhee Road, Hogg Market and Bengali cultural spaces.
