Telangana DGP Calls for Stronger SDRF, Better Disaster Response
The top police officer in Telangana, named C.V. Anand, visited a police camp called the 4th Battalion in Mamunoor, Warangal.
He wanted police to be better prepared to help people during disasters and emergencies.
He said police should have modern tools, continuous training, and professional skills.
He asked for the State Disaster Response Force, or SDRF, to be made stronger.
The SDRF is a special team that rescues people during floods and other emergencies.
During his visit, he looked at rescue equipment and gadgets the teams use.
He also warned police officers to stay away from online betting and gaming.
He said a police constable had recently died by suicide and was reportedly addicted to these activities.
Anand promised that houses could be built for the personnel if the government provides land.
He also planted a sapling and encouraged everyone to protect the environment.
Telangana DGP C.V. Anand called for strengthening the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) during a visit to the 4th Battalion at Mamunoor in Warangal.
Anand said police should be equipped with modern technology, continuous training and professional skills to respond swiftly to floods, accidents and other emergencies.
He inspected an exhibition of SDRF rescue equipment and technical devices and reviewed rescue procedures, emergency coordination and equipment use.
Anand cautioned personnel against online betting and gaming, referring to the recent suicide of a constable at the DGP office reportedly linked to such addiction.
He assured personnel that houses would be constructed through the Police Housing Corporation if government land is made available.
