MNS group leader Yashwant Killedar urged immediate repairs, saying redevelopment of Krantisinh Nana Patil Market is already in progress and traders have no alternative arrangement.
Standing Committee Chairman Prabhakar Shinde questioned why redevelopment proposals for nearly 20 municipal markets had stalled, depriving them of facilities like parking spaces and cold storage.
The special meeting will discuss a comprehensive strategy covering commercial utilisation, agency participation, and revenue-generation models for the BMC, possibly with consultants.
