Bhiwandi Building Collapse: BNCMC Orders Fresh Audits, Fast-Track Road Repairs
An old building called the Kohinoor building fell down in a place called Gangaram Wadi in Bhiwandi.
After the building fell, city leaders became very worried about other old buildings.
The city's Commissioner called a special meeting to talk about safety.
He told workers to check every building that was marked as risky.
Buildings are put on special lists with names like C-1, C-2A and C-2B, and all of them will be checked again.
The building that collapsed was on the risky list, so leaders want to make sure no one made a mistake.
The meeting also talked about the bumpy, broken roads in the city.
The Commissioner said workers should fix the roads even if they don't have all the money yet.
He also said engineers should watch the repair work to make sure it is done well.
The goal is to keep people safe and fix the roads quickly.
BNCMC Commissioner Shrikrishna Panchal chaired an emergency review meeting after the Kohinoor building collapse at Gangaram Wadi.
Fresh structural audits were ordered for all buildings classified under C-1, C-2A and C-2B categories across Bhiwandi.
The Kohinoor building had been placed in the C-2A category before it collapsed, raising concern over negligence in classification.
Officials warned that officers found deliberately or negligently misclassifying buildings will face departmental action.
Road repairs will continue using available funds, with engineers told to personally supervise quality and prioritize roads used by school buses and two-wheelers.
