Andhra Pradesh Inaugurates Kothapatnam Power Substation
Andhra Pradesh has opened a new electricity substation in Kothapatnam.
It cost Rs 44.25 crore to build.
The minister said it will help provide electricity to 22,430 consumers, including homes, farms and businesses.
Work to improve other parts of the district’s electricity network is also underway.
Officials have finished work on 213 of 307 feeders under one program.
The minister said 446 more farmers are expected to receive electricity connections soon.
He also asked people to use a rooftop-solar program.
Later, he opened a centre in Ongole where people can learn about electric vehicles and drones.
Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar inaugurated a 132/33 KV substation at Kothapatnam in Prakasam district.
The substation cost Rs 44.25 crore and is expected to serve 22,430 consumers across several sectors.
Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme works in Prakasam district are 70 per cent complete, with 213 of 307 feeders finished.
The minister said 2,950 agricultural connections have been provided in the district, with 446 more planned soon.
The minister also inaugurated an Ongole skill development centre for training in electric-vehicle and drone technologies.
