Lambada Group Demands Official Status, Public Holiday for Haryali Teej

A group called Lambadila Aikya Vedika has asked the government to celebrate a special festival called Haryali Teej.

Haryali Teej is one of the most important festivals for the Lambada community.

The group made this request in Hyderabad.

They want the government to give the festival official status.

They also want it to be a public holiday so everyone in the community can celebrate.

They asked for the holiday to be on August 24.

They want Haryali Teej to be added to the 2027 government holiday calendar.

They also want the government to give traditional mirror work dresses to girls in the community.

The group says Haryali Teej should get the same support that is given to festivals like Ramzan, Christmas, and Bathukamma.

They suggested that Teej Boyero be observed on August 15, while areas following the Chuto Kadav tradition may hold the ritual on August 23.
