AP, Telangana Likely Holiday on 21 August for Varalakshmi Vratam

On the 21st of August 2026, people in two parts of India called Andhra Pradesh and Telangana might get a day off from school and work.

The reason is a special festival called Varalakshmi Vratam.

During this festival, women celebrate and pray with a lot of joy.

The holiday would be for schools, colleges, and government offices.

Even bigger schools and colleges would close too, as long as the government says so.

The holiday was chosen so people can take part in the celebrations.

This festival happens during a special month called Shravana.
