Dengue is a sickness people can get from mosquito bites.

The city of Pune has seen many people possibly getting sick with dengue this year.

So far, 749 people are thought to have caught the illness.

Most of these cases happened in the months of June and July.

That is when the number went up the most.

A special test called NS1 was used to check for the sickness early.

Scientists in a lab confirmed 26 of the cases for sure.

City workers looked for places where mosquitoes like to breed.

They found about 1,708 such spots in homes, offices, schools and apartments.

The city also collected a fine of Rs 2.6 lakh to help deal with the problem.
