Dhami Inaugurates Gaushala, Launches ₹108.84 Crore Projects in Khatima
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami opened a new shelter for cows in Khatima.
The shelter cost ₹7.23 crore to build.
He also started 15 other development projects costing ₹108.84 crore.
These projects include improving a section of State Highway 70.
The cow shelter will care for cattle that do not have a home.
Officials said this could help farmers and make roads safer.
Uttarakhand says more than 16,000 cattle already receive shelter across the state.
The government also plans to build more shelters and support dairy-related rural businesses.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated a ₹7.23 crore gaushala in Haldighera, Khatima.
Dhami laid foundation stones for 15 development projects valued at ₹108.84 crore.
The projects include a ₹34.44 crore upgrade of 13.60 kilometres of State Highway 70.
The new gaushala is intended to shelter destitute cattle, support farmers and reduce cattle-related road accidents.
The government said more than 16,000 cattle are sheltered statewide, with gaushalas planned at 63 additional locations.
