Harish Rao alleges Telangana failed to protect Godavari water interests
Two states in India share water from a big river called the Godavari.
The states are Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
There is a special board that helps them share the river water fairly.
The board is going to meet in Hyderabad on August 18.
A leader named Harish Rao said the Telangana government is not doing enough to protect the state's water.
He said Andhra Pradesh wants the board to take back permission for seven big irrigation projects.
These projects help bring water to farms.
He is worried Telangana could lose water it needs.
He asked the chief minister to explain the government's plan to the people.
BRS Deputy Leader T Harish Rao accused the Telangana government of failing to protect the state's water interests ahead of the Godavari River Management Board (GRMB) meeting on August 18.
He alleged Andhra Pradesh's agenda sought a review of approvals for seven Telangana irrigation projects, including the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme.
Rao said Andhra Pradesh proposed reconsideration of the clearances granted to the Sammakka Barrage.
He claimed DPRs for the Sammakka, Palamuru and Wardha projects were returned and no additional water allocation was approved during the current government's tenure.
Rao demanded CM A. Revanth Reddy clarify the government's stand and urged Union Ministers from Telangana and BJP leaders to publicly state their position.
