Big Relief For Thane Homebuyers: Eknath Shinde Orders MHADA Price Cut

Many people wanted to buy homes in a new housing project in Thane, a city near Mumbai.

The homes were built by a government housing group called MHADA.

Buyers noticed something unfair: people buying the exact same kind of flat in the same building were being charged very different prices.

Some flats cost around Rs 44 lakh while others were priced as high as Rs 52 lakh.

Angry buyers complained to the housing authority.

A very important leader in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, listened to their complaints.

He told MHADA to charge one fair price for everyone using older, lower rates.

Now flat prices will drop to between Rs 44 and 46 lakh.

People who already won the first lottery and accepted their flats will keep them at the lower price.

A new lottery will be held so other buyers can also get the cheaper flats.
