Four arrested in UP while allegedly preparing illegal cattle slaughter
Police in a city in India got a secret tip that some people were getting ready to hurt a cow, which is against the law there.
They went to a place near a canal to check on it.
During the operation, the police caught four people.
Two of those people got hurt on their legs and had to go to the hospital.
The police found tools that could be used for the illegal activity.
One other person ran away before the police could catch him.
The people who were caught told the police that the cow came from someone else.

Four individuals were arrested by Bithri Chainpur Police in Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly preparing illegal cattle slaughter.
A police encounter broke out during the raid, and two accused, Naseem and Rashid, sustained gunshot wounds to their legs and were hospitalised.
Police recovered equipment allegedly intended for use in the slaughter from the arrested individuals.
A fifth suspect, Mohammad Qasim Qureshi, managed to escape from the location during the operation.
During questioning, the accused allegedly said the bovine animal was provided by Shakir Khan, a resident of Persona; further investigation is ongoing.
