Foundation Stone Laid for Telugu University Campus Road
A new cement road is going to be built at Telugu University’s campus in Bommuru.
The road will cost about Rs 75 lakh.
The money will come from the Rajamahendravaram Urban Development Authority.
Local leaders attended the ceremony where the foundation stone was laid.
MP Daggubati Purandeswari promised to help improve the university.
She said the university was created to protect the Telugu language, culture and heritage.
The campus once had 45 acres, but only about 30 acres are now available.
Officials also discussed a possible Rs 20 crore allocation for further development.
A foundation stone was laid for a cement concrete road at Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University’s Bommuru campus.
The road project is estimated to cost Rs 75 lakh and is funded by the Rajamahendravaram Urban Development Authority.
MP Daggubati Purandeswari and Rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary assured support for campus development and restoration.
Purandeswari said the university’s landholding had declined from 45 acres to about 30 acres after portions were allotted to other institutions.
Officials said around Rs 20 crore had been assured for development, while some assets remain in Telangana after State bifurcation.
