People in parts of Gurgaon are not getting enough water from their taps.

The problem began on Wednesday with water arriving irregularly and at low pressure.

After four days, some homes were receiving only a weak trickle.

Families are saving and carefully using each bucket of water.

Some residents are waiting for tankers to bring more water.

Others are buying packaged drinking water for daily needs.

Officials said the Basai Water Treatment Plant had an electrical safety shutdown, called tripping.

They also found a large leak in a main water pipeline.
