Apple scrambles to secure memory chips for iPhone 18 Pro

Apple is working on new phones called the iPhone 18 Pro and other new models.

Phones need special parts called memory chips to work.

Right now, there are not enough of these chips for everyone, which is called a shortage.

Because of the shortage, Apple may not be able to make its new phones as fast as planned.

Apple already has lots of brain chips, called processors, ready to go, but they cannot be used until the memory chips arrive.

A company called TSMC is building new processors for the iPhone, but those processors still need memory chips to finish the phones.

Apple's boss, Tim Cook, said the supply chain is having a hard time.

Apple already raised prices on products like iPads and MacBooks, so new iPhones might cost more too.

The first new iPhones might still be ready for people who order early, but some customers may have to wait longer.
