A very large flood hit parts of Nepal after an ice-and-rock avalanche near the Nepal-Tibet border.

The disaster happened on August 26.

Officials say 1,385 people have died and more than 5,000 are still missing.

Rescue teams have saved 13,676 people.

Floodwaters destroyed homes, roads, bridges, vehicles and hydropower projects.

At least 43 people also died on the Chinese side, while more than 500 people remain missing in Tibet, according to Chinese media.

Hundreds of Nepalese workers stranded in China have returned home.

Eight people from Sikkim who were traveling to Kailash Mansarovar also safely returned.

Authorities in Nepal, Sikkim and India helped coordinate rescue and repatriation efforts.
