Distance Won't Be An Obstacle: 1.40 Lakh Class 9 Girls In Delhi To Get Bicycles · NDTV

The Delhi government is helping girls get to school by giving them bicycles.

A special plan called Vidya Vahini gives bicycles to girls in Class 9.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta handed out bicycles to 200 students at the Delhi Assembly.

More than 3,200 girls have already received bicycles through this plan.

The government wants to give bicycles to about 140,000 girls across Delhi this year.

The goal is to make sure distance from home does not stop a girl from going to school.

With a bicycle, girls can travel faster, easier and more safely.

The Chief Minister said there is special joy in seeing a daughter ride with confidence toward her dreams.

The Education Minister said the plan builds a strong foundation for girls' education and self-reliance.

This way, every girl in Delhi can learn, grow and shine.
