Revanth Seeks Centre Help for Maharashtra Clearance on Tummidihatti Project
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Union Minister C.R. Patil in Delhi.
He asked the Centre to help Telangana obtain Maharashtra’s permission for the Tummidihatti barrage.
Telangana wants the barrage built with its water level at 152 metres.
This could allow water to flow by gravity to the Yellampalli reservoir.
That would reduce the electricity needed to move the water.
Revanth also requested environmental approvals for several other irrigation projects.
He asked for pending approvals for the Sammakkasagar project as well.
He also wanted monitoring devices for Krishna River water use installed more quickly.
