Pune Constable Attacked After Advising Youths Against Harmful Habits

A railway police constable named Akshay Bambale spoke to a group of youths about avoiding smoking and alcohol.

He did this after one youth’s mother reportedly asked him to give them advice.

Police say the youths became angry during the conversation.

The argument allegedly turned into an attack with a sharp weapon.

Bambale suffered a serious cut on his throat and needed six stitches.

Doctors and police said he is stable and out of danger.

Four people, including two minors, were detained.

Police are still investigating exactly what happened and whether anything was stolen.
