Raut Demands PM Explain Delay in Women's Reservation Act

A leader named Sanjay Raut asked India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi a big question: why has the law that gives women more seats in Parliament not been put into action yet?

The law, called the Women's Reservation Bill, was passed in 2023.

It says that at least 33 out of every 100 seats should be reserved for women.

Mr. Raut spoke after the Prime Minister's Independence Day speech.

He said older leaders who are over 75 years old should give their jobs to young people.

He called young people 'Yuva Shakti', which means the power of youth.

The Prime Minister also talked about the women's reservation law in his speech from the Red Fort.

But the extra law that would make it work, called the 131st Constitution Amendment Bill, did not pass.

Mr. Raut also praised a campaign called 'School Thik Karo' because he wants schools to be improved for children.
