NIA Chargesheets 13 Accused in Ghaziabad Espionage Case
India’s National Investigation Agency has filed a formal chargesheet in an alleged spying case in Ghaziabad.
The agency says some people entered or approached places where they were not allowed.
It alleges that spy cameras were used to record sensitive locations.
The photographs and videos reportedly included exact GPS locations.
Investigators say the material was sent to entities in an enemy country.
They also allege that Indian SIM cards were obtained for unlawful activities.
Five juveniles connected to the case are being investigated separately.
The case began in March 2026, and 21 people have been arrested so far, although the published list contains 12 names while the agency says 13 were chargesheeted.
The National Investigation Agency filed a chargesheet against 13 accused before the Special Court, NIA, in Lucknow.
The NIA alleges that sensitive areas were illegally accessed, spy cameras were installed, and geo-tagged photographs and videos were sent to entities in an enemy country.
Five juveniles linked to the case are being handled separately, with a report submitted to the Ghaziabad Juvenile Justice Board on May 18.
The case involves provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Official Secrets Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The case began with an FIR on March 14, 2026; 21 people have been arrested, while the published chargesheet list names 12 individuals despite the stated total of 13.
