TN Anti-Plastic Drive Seizes 15 Tons
The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) and local bodies worked together to stop the use of banned single-use plastics (SUPs) during the festive season.
They found 2,553 violations, seized 15.56 tons of banned plastic items, and fined people Rs 12,50,200.
They also closed more than 290 illegal plastic manufacturing units.
The drive started in December 2025 and included inspections at shops, markets, transport hubs, and borders.
The TNPCB asked everyone to follow the plastic ban and use eco-friendly alternatives.
They will keep enforcing the ban and need the public's help to protect the environment.
