Five arrested posing as GST officials, Rs 29 lakh extortion
Some grown-ups pretended to be tax officers called GST officials.
They stopped a man who does tax work while he was driving his car in Noida.
They told him he had fake documents and could be sent to jail.
They asked his family for a lot of money — 29 lakh rupees.
The man's brother brought the money in cash.
After getting the money, the fake officers let the man go and ran away.
Police later arrested the five people who did this.
Police found all the money, plus gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 4.50 lakh.
They also found two cars and seven mobile phones.
The leader knew the man from before, which helped them trick him.
Five people were arrested in Noida for posing as GST officials and extorting Rs 29 lakh from a GST consultant.
The accused intercepted his car near S Aspire Society on July 20, threatening him over alleged fake e-way bills of two firms.
Bisrakh police recovered the full amount: Rs 24.50 lakh in cash and gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 4.50 lakh.
Main accused Kashish Chauhan, also known as Ishu, had known the victim since 2021 and targeted him knowing he did GST-related work.
The accused wore a police sub-inspector's uniform and a Delhi Civil Defence uniform, though police said none of them are police personnel.
