CIDCO Seizes 15 Dumpers in Navi Mumbai Debris Dumping Crackdown
Some people were dumping big piles of dirt and broken building pieces on land owned by a city development company.
This is called illegal dumping, and it can harm the environment and make people sick.
A group called CIDCO, which takes care of this land, decided to stop them.
On one day, their officers and the police stopped 15 big trucks called dumpers.
The trucks were found in different places like Ulwe, Vashi, Uran and Kharghar.
In Ulwe, five trucks were carrying waste that could be dangerous to people's health.
The drivers got into trouble, and court cases were filed at seven police stations.
A CIDCO official named Suresh Mengde said the offenders are part of a 'debris mafia' that breaks the rules.
He warned that anyone caught dumping without permission will face serious punishment.
The officers said they will keep checking so the land stays clean and people stay safe.
CIDCO seized 15 dumpers in a single-day crackdown on illegal construction debris dumping across Navi Mumbai, Panvel and Uran on Tuesday, August 11.
Cases were registered against dumper drivers at seven police stations following the joint operation by CIDCO's security and engineering departments and local police.
Five dumpers intercepted in Ulwe were carrying waste allegedly hazardous to human health and being brought for unauthorised dumping without treatment.
Three dumpers were seized near the Vashi toll naka, and three more near DNA Marine Services in Uran police limits.
CIDCO Chief Vigilance Officer Suresh Mengde warned of strict legal action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, saying the crackdown on the debris mafia will continue.
