Piyush Goyal Inaugurates Mumbai’s 26th Suvidha Kendra In Dahisar
A new Suvidha Kendra has opened in Sawarpada, Dahisar.
Piyush Goyal inaugurated it online on Sunday.
People can use clean toilets, showers, laundry machines and purified water there.
A family of five can get unlimited toilet access for Rs 150 a month.
One litre of filtered water costs Rs 1.
Washing a 7kg load costs Rs 70.
The centre uses solar power and recycles some wastewater.
Goyal said more such centres should be built and managed by women’s self-help groups.
Piyush Goyal virtually inaugurated Mumbai’s 26th Suvidha Kendra in Sawarpada, Dahisar (East), on Sunday.
The centre offers toilets, showers, laundry services and purified drinking water.
It has 29 toilet seats, six laundry machines and a water-purification facility.
Monthly family toilet access costs Rs 150, while water costs Rs 1 per litre and a 7kg laundry load costs Rs 70.
The facility was built through a corporate social responsibility-funded public-private partnership involving Hindustan Unilever Limited, HSBC India, JSW Foundation and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
