India celebrates Independence Day on August 15 every year.

In Kolkata, a big parade is held on a famous road called Red Road.

This year, 11 decorated floats called tableaux will take part in the parade.

The floats will show off helpful government programs, like free homes for people and free bus rides for women.

They will also remember Syama Prasad Mookerjee, a leader from long ago.

This is the first Independence Day after a new government came to power in the state, so people expect some surprises.

The Chief Minister will raise the national flag at 10:30 in the morning.

The whole celebration will last about one hour and will include a flower shower from a helicopter.

Police will keep a close watch to make sure everyone is safe.

It will be a colorful day of parades, culture, and celebration.
