A new four-lane highway is almost ready between Karimnagar and the Hanamkonda-Warangal area.

It is called National Highway 563.

Officials are testing the road before allowing everyone to use it.

The road may reduce the journey from about 90 minutes to around 45 minutes.

The project is 68 kilometres long and costs about ₹1,641 crore.

It has bridges, underpasses and bypass roads to help traffic move more easily.

Cameras, solar lights and a traffic-control system were also installed.

Officials hope to open it before the Dasara festival, after the tests are finished.

Some local residents said travel has already become smoother and hope accidents will decrease.
