Over One Lakh Join Rajasthan’s Village Drug-Free Campaign
People in more than 300 Rajasthan villages held meetings about preventing drug and substance addiction.
More than one lakh teachers, students, parents and villagers took part.
They discussed alcohol, tobacco, narcotics, synthetic drugs and the misuse of medicines.
They also talked about painkillers, e-cigarettes and nicotine products.
In one Bikaner village, about 2,000 people made a human formation.
Prof Shyam Sunder Jyani said families and schools can help stop addiction early.
He and his wife began a fast to raise awareness.
Organisers also plan a year-long prevention programme and created a website with Hindi educational booklets.
