Police in Kazipet arrested a 41-year-old man named Mettu Praveen Kumar.

They say he promised unemployed people government jobs.

He allegedly asked them for money, gold and important certificates.

He reportedly showed them fake appointment letters and pretended to conduct medical checks and police verifications.

He also allegedly presented some non-government courses as job training.

Police say the people involved lost about Rs 85 lakh altogether.

Officers recovered some cash, a car, phones, a laptop and documents.

Police warned people to check job offers only on official government websites.
