India Successfully Launches EOS-05 on GSLV-F17 Mission
India launched a new satellite called EOS-05 into space.
The satellite traveled on a GSLV-F17 rocket from Sriharikota.
It reached the planned temporary orbit about 18 minutes after launch.
EOS-05 is designed to take detailed pictures of Earth from a very high orbit.
Its images may help with farming, environmental monitoring, and disaster management.

ISRO launched the 2,367-kilogram EOS-05 Earth observation satellite aboard GSLV-F17 from Sriharikota.
The rocket placed EOS-05 into its intended Sub-Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit 18 minutes after liftoff at 2:55 a.m.
EOS-05 is described as India’s first imaging satellite designed to monitor Earth from geosynchronous orbit.
ISRO said the satellite’s systems, including its solar panel and valves, were functioning properly after injection.
The mission was GSLV’s 19th flight and ISRO’s first successful launch activity since the PSLV-C62 failure cited in the reports.
