MP Disabled Await UDID Cards 253 Days as Delays Persist

Many people in Madhya Pradesh who have disabilities need a special card called a UDID card.

This card helps them get government help like pensions, school benefits and other support.

But getting the card is taking a very long time.

On average, people wait about 253 days, which is almost eight and a half months.

More than 12,000 applications have been waiting for over six months.

The government says the delay happens because medical boards that check applications do not meet very often.

How often they meet depends on the state, hospitals, and how many doctors are available.

The central government wants to fix this by making the website better and linking it with Aadhaar.

It also wants to give doctors special training.

Thousands of people across the country are still waiting, which makes life difficult for them.
