The state recorded 45.1 mm of rain in 24 hours, compared with a normal 1.8 mm.
Fifty-six people died, 46 were injured, and 1,021 houses were damaged between September 25 and Sunday morning.
A deep depression from the Bay of Bengal moved over Madhya Pradesh and southeastern Uttar Pradesh before weakening.
Its interaction with a Western Disturbance, amid the retreating monsoon, produced heavy to extremely heavy rainfall and strong winds.
