Tata Trusts Begin Search for Chandrasekaran's Successor at Tata Sons
Tata Trusts begin process to select N Chandrasekaran’s successor as Tata Sons chairman · telegraphindia.com

There is a very big company in India called the Tata Group, and the person in charge of its main holding company, Tata Sons, is N Chandrasekaran.

His time as chairman was almost over, and normally he could stay for five more years.

The biggest owner of the company, a charity trust, wanted him to stay, but one important board member did not agree, so the vote to keep him did not pass.

Because of this, Mr. Chandrasekaran decided not to ask for the job again.

He will remain chairman until his term ends on February 20, 2027.

Now the trust has started looking for a new leader.

A special committee with five members will be formed to recommend who should be the next chairman.

The company will hold a big meeting on August 18 where more details about the change may be announced.

The trust says it wants the change to be smooth and orderly.
