Karnataka checked the documents of foreign nationals living in the state.

Officials said they identified 911 people who were staying illegally.

The review covered the past three years.

Of these people, 365 were linked to criminal cases.

Most of those identified—868—were from Bangladesh.

Others came from Pakistan, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Uganda.

The checks included people without proper documents.

They also included people who stayed after their visas expired or allowed period ended.

Home Minister Priyank Kharge gave these details to the state Legislative Council.
