Kuchipudi artiste Laya Raj presents an evening of devotion
Laya Raj performed a Kuchipudi dance programme in Secunderabad.
The programme was called “Nritya Kala Parampara.”
She began by asking Lord Ganesha to bless the performance.
She then showed the joyful dance of Lord Shiva.
Another dance described the powerful forms of the Divine Mother.
She also acted as Radha, who misses Krishna but feels better when she hears his flute.
The final Thillana used quick footwork to celebrate Subramanya Swamy.
The audience applauded her performances.
Bharatakalaksetram presented “Nritya Kala Parampara,” featuring Kuchipudi artiste Laya Raj in Secunderabad.
Raj opened with “Sri Vigna Rajam Bhaje,” an invocation to Lord Ganesha in Gambheera Nattai.
“Ananda Thandavam” portrayed Lord Nataraja’s joyful cosmic dance through choreography by Vedantam Satya Narasimha Sastry.
“Maheshwari Mahakali” depicted the Divine Mother’s will, knowledge and action through Parvati, Saraswati and Lakshmi.
The programme concluded with a vigorous Sivaranjani Thillana celebrating Subramanya Swamy and his peacock.
