Khyathi Putta’s Kuchipudi rangapravesam showcases devotion, drama and artistry
Khyathi Putta gave an important first major Kuchipudi performance called a rangapravesam.
It took place at Shilpakala Vedika on Saturday.
Her teacher, Sri Bompally Sudheer Rao, guided her training.
The program included dances about Ganesha, Rama, Shiva and Goddess Durga.
Khyathi also acted as Satyabhama, a confident woman who misses Krishna.
She used movements and facial expressions to tell each story.
The final dance showed Durga defeating the demon Mahishasura.
The audience applauded her performance.
Khyathi Putta presented her Kuchipudi rangapravesam at Shilpakala Vedika on Saturday.
Guru Sri Bompally Sudheer Rao trained Khyathi through frequent travel between Hyderabad and Warangal.
The recital featured devotional works honoring Ganesha, Rama, Shiva and Goddess Durga.
Khyathi portrayed Satyabhama’s pride, wit and longing in an excerpt from Bhamakalapam.
The performance concluded with a Tharangam depicting Durga’s victory over Mahishasura.
