Sant Ravidas’s 650th Birth Anniversary Marked With Sacred Soil Campaign
Sant Ravidas’s 650th birth anniversary was celebrated at an event in Delhi.
Sacred soil from Varanasi was brought to the programme.
Vehicles carrying the soil were sent to all 14 districts of Delhi.
The campaign is called the Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan.
Leaders said Sant Ravidas taught that everyone deserves respect and equal opportunities.
They also spoke about devotion, kindness and helping society live together peacefully.
The organisers want his teachings to reach many homes and communities.
They said remembering his message should also mean following it in daily life.

Bharatiya Janata Party president Nitin Nabin flagged off vehicles carrying sacred soil from Varanasi to Delhi’s 14 districts.
The Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan aims to spread messages of devotion, equality, dignity and social harmony.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the organisers want the soil and Ravidas’s teachings to reach households and localities.
BJP leaders said Ravidas’s teachings should guide social conduct and promote compassion, humanity and positive change.
