Rekha Gupta Vows Sant Ravidas Message Reaches Delhi Households
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended a programme honoring Sant Ravidas.
The event marked his 650th birth anniversary.
A special yatra, or journey, began in Varanasi and has now reached Delhi.
It will visit all districts of the city.
The programme also distributed kalash containing sacred soil.
Gupta said the soil represents Sant Ravidas’s ideas and work for society.
She said his teachings remind people that no one is greater or lesser than anyone else.
She wants these messages of equality, respect and brotherhood to reach every household in Delhi.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta paid respects to Sant Ravidas on his 650th birth anniversary.
She spoke at the Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan and Pavitra Maati Kalash Distribution programme at Talkatora Stadium.
The Samrasta Sankalp Yatra began in Varanasi and has reached Delhi, where it will travel through all districts.
Gupta said sacred soil from the kalash should reach every household and settlement across Delhi.
She described Sant Ravidas’s teachings as promoting equality, dignity, brotherhood, equal opportunity and social harmony.
